From the Taj Mahal to Kerala backwaters — sixteen days
North and south in one trip, which sounds ambitious and is mostly a matter of one good internal flight.
The reason to do it is contrast. Agra and Alleppey have almost nothing in common beyond a passport stamp, and seeing both is the closest thing to understanding why India is talked about as a thousand places rather than one.
Sixteen days is the floor for this. Fourteen turns it into an airport tour.
